Origin Story
This single farmer lot comes from Mr. Tadese Teko, based in Shale village near Worka town in Yirgacheffe, one of Ethiopia’s most iconic coffee regions.
Mr. Tadese is a smallholder farmer living in the Ethiopian highlands, where coffee is central to daily life and livelihood. He owns 8 hectares of land, which is considered large by local standards, and relies on coffee production to support his family and send his children to school.
Coffee in this area is grown naturally without chemical fertilisers. Farmers often produce their own organic fertiliser using agricultural waste, and many also work at local washing stations during harvest season to supplement their income.
Why does this coffee taste so clean and sweet?
Mr. Tadese focuses primarily on washed coffee production, delivering cherries to nearby washing stations where careful processing highlights clarity and balance.
Through washed processing, fruit flesh is removed before fermentation, allowing the coffee’s natural stone fruit sweetness, gentle caramel tones, and juicy acidity to shine through with a clean, delicate finish.
This lot was separated for its exceptional quality, representing the classic elegance of washed Yirgacheffe coffees.
