Origin Story
Gichathaini is one of three washing stations that form the Gikanda Farmers Cooperative Society (F.C.S.), located in the Mathira West district of Nyeri. The factory is fully owned by the farmers who deliver their cherries here — about 1,045 registered members (770 active).
Just 6 km from Karatina town, Gichathaini sits amidst fertile volcanic soil, nourished by fresh water from the Ragati River. With abundant rainfall and stable temperatures, the area offers ideal conditions for cultivating complex and vibrant coffees.
